Van der Windt passes a milestone in dish sales

In mid May 2011 our dish sales this century reached, and passed the 1,000,000,000 milestone. ‘And we’re only talking about the dishes and trays in the Fruit & Vegetable segment. This unimaginably high number doesn’t include the dishes sold in the Industry sector and the Retail & Services markets’, according to Reinier Verhoef, Fruit & Vegetables dishes specialist at Van der Windt Verpakking.
In addition to the 60 types of dish always available from stock, Van der Windt can also deliver, very quickly, a wide range from various manufacturing facilities. The options also include ‘tailor made’ models.
The most important Fruit & Vegetable products that are packed in dishes or on trays are tomatoes, paprikas, peppers, radishes, lettuces, chicory, sprouting seeds, apples, oranges, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cherries and blueberries.
But other, less common exotics such as mangos, avocados, figs, Sharon fruits, passion fruits and dragon fruit also find their ideal packaging in Van der Windt’s range.
The link with other products, such as outer-packaging (the dishes must fit into a box), films and self-adhesive labels enable total packaging concepts to be designed in advance and sourced from a single supplier.
Special (3-D) scans also mean models can be reproduced and, most important, improved. Whether the models must be made from PP (polypropylene), PET (Polyethylene terephthalate), PS (polystyrene) or EPS (Styrofoam), or environmentally-responsible materials such as PLA (Poly Lactic Acid), duplex cardboard, sugar cane or pulp, we can always offer you the right dish for your product.
